Export Mind Maps
To export a mind map, right-click on the background and select Export.

You can also export your map from the File List Menu.

Export as mind map formats
Section titled “Export as mind map formats”- Mindomo File (.mom)
The standard format for saving your map without attached files.
- Mindomo Pack (.pmom)
Compresses your mind map together with all attached files into a single package. You can share it with other Mindomo Desktop users, who will be able to open the map along with its attachments.

Export as Excel
Section titled “Export as Excel”- Horizontal Outline (.xls)
The central topic is placed in the first cell, main topics in column B, and each level of subtopics fills the following columns.

- Horizontal Tree (.xls)
A more compact version of the Horizontal Outline layout.

- Gantt Chart Data (.xls)
The central topic becomes the file title. Topics and subtopics are listed under the “Tasks” column.

- Vertical Outline (.xls)
The central topic becomes the file title. Topics and subtopics are listed under the “Tasks” column.

Export as PDF
Section titled “Export as PDF”When exporting to PDF, you can customize:

Page size: A4, A3, A2, Letter, Ledger, Long Bond, Widescreen, or Original.
-
Number of pages used to split the diagram, with a preview available.
-
Page orientation: Portrait or Landscape.
-
Whether to include topic notes or comments.
-
Whether to use a transparent background.


Hyperlinks included in your mind map remain clickable in the PDF.

Export as Microsoft Word
Section titled “Export as Microsoft Word”Customization options include:

Page size
-
Elements to include (icons, notes, images, etc.)
To export images from notes or comments, enable both Export notes/comments and Export images.

Task attributes (Start date, End date, Duration, etc.)

The central topic becomes the document title, followed by a hyperlinked table of contents.

Notes keep their original styling (bullets, numbering, font formatting), and embedded images appear below them.

Comments appear in a right-side column, showing the author’s initials and the date added.

Export as Microsoft PowerPoint
Section titled “Export as Microsoft PowerPoint”You can choose between two export modes:

- Export slides
Requires creating a presentation in Mindomo first.

Each slide is exported as a screenshot, with the topic text added below as notes.

- Export main topics
For maps without a predefined presentation. Each slide contains one main topic and its related subtopics.

Export as Text
Section titled “Export as Text”Topics and subtopics are displayed using indentation. Notes, comments, and hyperlinks appear below the relevant topic.

Export as OPML
Section titled “Export as OPML”The exported OPML file reflects the hierarchical structure of your mind map.

Export as Microsoft Project (.mpx)

Export as HTML
Section titled “Export as HTML”The exported file opens in your default browser.

Export Slides as Images
Section titled “Export Slides as Images”You can customize:

Page size: A4, A3, A2, Letter, Ledger, Long Bond, Widescreen, or Original.

Orientation: Portrait or Landscape.

Transparent background option.

Slides are exported as PNG files inside a ZIP folder.

Export Slides as PDF
Section titled “Export Slides as PDF”You have the option to customize the Slides as PDF:
- Select the desired size from a range of options: A4, A3, A2, Letter, Ledger, Long Bond, Widescreen, or Original.
- Select the layout: choose between Portrait or Landscape orientation.
- Select the option to generate your file with transparent background.

The export produces a PDF file.

Export as Image File
Section titled “Export as Image File”You can export the mind map as a PNG image, choosing the desired resolution.

Export as Markdown file
Section titled “Export as Markdown file”When exporting your mind map to a Markdown (.md) file:
The central topic and all floating topics become top-level titles, marked with one hashtag (#).
Main topics become second-level titles, marked with two hashtags (##).
Each subtopic is exported as a list item marked with a dash (-), and its level in the hierarchy is shown through indentation using tabs.
Task details such as Progress, Priority, Start, and Due dates are imported into Markdown as Priority, Completion, Start date, and End date. These elements appear directly below the related topic, separated by an empty line.
Notes are exported as plain text under the topic name (or under its task information, when present), with an empty line separating each section.
Hyperlinks are exported depending on how they were added in the mind map:

When your mind map contains tasks, subtopics with assigned tasks use the following symbols:

[ ] - incomplete task
-
[x] - completed task
These symbols only apply to subtopics exported as list items. The central and main topics remain formatted with hashtags.

Section titled “Export as SVG”The file contains a visual representation of the map exported in SVG format.
